As Managing Director, Transmission Network Systems Europe, Bart Spriester is based in Kortrijk, Belgium where he works closely with the EMEA sales organization to continue to grow the Transmission business in Europe. He directs a variety of key Europe functions including technology development, operations, research and development, product management, customer operations, quality assurance, and market management.

Mr. Spriester has been with Scientific Atlanta since 1993, most recently as Director and General Manager of the Digital Transport business in Atlanta, Georgia. Prior to his responsibilities in Digital Transport, he was a director in the Analog Optics business based in Naperville, Illinois and has held various positions within engineering management, and product management within the RF Electronics business at Scientific Atlanta.

Prior to joining Scientific Atlanta, Mr. Spriester worked in a research laboratory for the U.S. Department of Defense. His background includes experience in engineering, operations, marketing and product management.

He holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and an M.B.A. from Georgia Tech. He has been granted more than a dozen U.S. Patents and has published several papers.
