George Stromeyer joined Scientific Atlanta in 1996 and assumed his responsibilities at the company’s European headquarters in 2003. Prior to that he served as Vice President and Managing Director, Latin America for six years and spent one year at Scientific Atlanta’s world headquarters in Atlanta. For the past four years, he has played an integral role in directing the company’s EMEA division by developing and implementing a clear strategy to address the rapidly changing needs of cable, broadcast, satellite and wireline service providers. During this time the business grew very rapidly in existing and new markets. Most recently, he has taken on leadership for the combined Cisco and Scientific Atlanta business in the cable and broadcast/satellite markets.

Stromeyer’s success can be attributed to his ability to build durable relationships with senior executives at large communications operators, as well as close working relationships with Cisco’s technical and operational managers. His extensive industry experience enables him to help the company and its customers anticipate industry challenges and apply the proper products, systems and technologies to support innovative solutions that meet critical business objectives.

Prior to joining Scientific Atlanta, Stromeyer spent ten years with Raychem Corporation, in various sales management and product marketing management roles in Europe and the US, focused on solutions for the communications industry.

Stromeyer is a graduate of Cornell University, with a BSC in Mechanical Engineering and also completed an MBA from the Amos Tuck School of Business Administration at Dartmouth College. As a result of his international work experience around the world, he is an accomplished linguist with fluent English, German and Spanish and a comprehensive grasp of business French. In 2005 he was acknowledged for his leadership and contribution to the cable industry by being selected as one of the “Euro 50 – Leaders” in Broadband and Pay TV and has spoken at key industry events such as the CTAM EuroSummit, Cable Congress, Medientage Münich and Broadband World Forum Europe.
