ROSA EM

Monitor and Control
The ROSA Element Manager (EM) is specifically designed to cost effectively monitor and control the transmission network of headends, hub sites and HFC outside plants, and transmitter sites. ROSA EM provides the operator insight to what is occurring in their transmission network and automatically notifies the on duty technicians and engineers if the network begins to operate outside of normal thresholds. The main functions of the ROSA EM are to:
  • Monitor the health of the transmission network and associated facilities. ROSA EM actively polls all of the devices that it manages looking for potential problems

  • Set up and / or change the configuration of equipment remotely

  • Send alarms when out of normal conditions exists. When ROSA EM detects a problem it will notify the technicians and engineers of the alarm condition by sending a Page, Email, SMS, and/or SNMP Trap

  • Translate proprietary protocols to SNMP and pass information to higher-level managers. ROSA EM communicates with the devices it manages by proprietary protocol, SNMP or contact closures then translates this information in to SNMP before passing the information to one or more higher-level managers.

  • Backup equipment/service in the event of equipment failure. ROSA EM can trigger predefined backup routines that are designed to reroute service to standby devices when a primary device fails.

  • Perform local automation tasks
