 Graphic Display vs. Tabbed Panes
  • Graphic Displays mode creates a graphical representation of groups such as rows of vertical racks, individual racks, and chassis’ populated with modules

  • Graphic Displays mode creates a Device Details screen for devices which displays all of the data on a single screen

  • Tabbed Panes mode creates a Details screen for both groups and devices that is organized by tabs

Device Tree and Color Key

  • Network Elements are organized by grouping in the device tree

  • Parent / Child relationship

  • Alarms are promoted from child to parent

  • Different colors are used
    to quickly identify the current status of network elements

Acknowledging Alarms
Clicking on Acknowledge Alarm will stop any paging / email notifications for this alarm, stop the device tree flashing and record the operators ID in the system log.

 
ROSA EM Alarms and Reports Menu
If the user wants ROSA EM to display a flashing background for devices in the device tree with unacknowledged active alarms then the Blink Not Acknowledged must be set to ON.
     
The Active Alarms command will open a report that displays a list of all devices with active alarms. This is a dynamic report that is sorted by severity with Critical at the top, followed by Major, then Minor. Warnings are not displayed in this report.  

 

ROSA EM Windows Menu

    

  
  • In Detached from Browser mode graphic windows are persistent.

  • Each device or group selected opens another window placed cascade fashion slightly lower and to the right or the previous window.

  • The device tree is also in its own window which can be repositioned.

Retrieving the Historical Logs

  A historical log that combines the Alarm, System, and Software logs is available via FTP
  • Right click anywhere in the Alarm, System, or Software Log

  • Click on “Get Log File (via FTP) which will open a new window that displays the log

 

ROSA EM Software Log

  The Software log displays the following information about the TNCS software activity:
  • Date

  • Time

  • Activity

ROSA EM System Log

  The System log displays the following command activity within TNCS:
  • Date the command was issued

  • Time the command was issued

  • Type of command

  • Device location

  • Command issued

  • Operator who made the change

  • System from which the change was made

 

ROSA EM Alarm Log

  The Alarms log displays the following information about all reportable system alarms that are generated while the browser is connected to the ROSA EM:
  • Date

  • Time

  • Alarm state

  • Device hierarchical name

  • Alarm description

  • Device status
