Enhanced Features
  • DOCSIS HMS PS - The community strings and SNMP version is now configurable. The integration now supports 2 strings of up to 5 batteries in each string.

Bug Fixes
  • Copy Global can be implemented on parameter points that are stored in devices.

  • 6275 Demodulator device graphic is now 1U high.

  • Titan MKII voltage measurements have been removed from the parameters table.

  • AM Transponders in combination with Phoenix now supports negative values for the Modem Received Level.

  • DSN protocol for QPSK Modulator/Demodulator has been made more robust against bad command responses.

  • D96xx integration via IIOP correctly generates the “outgoing stuffing rate too high” on a D96xx with QPSK card. Added tolerance when having a connection loss towards D96xx.  

  • IIOP protocol now also works on TNCS.

By downloading and installing the “.30” release you will receive the latest enhancements to the TNCS 2.0 software. Each of the enhancements described below are included in this .30 Release.

TNCS Release 1.6.1 Service Pack 6 Enhancements
By downloading and installing this service pack you will receive the latest enhancements to the TNCS 1.6.1 software. Each of the enhancements described below plus all of the enhancements from Service Pack 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 are included in Service Pack 6.
Note: You do not have to download and install Service Pack 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 before installing Service Pack 6.

TNCS Release 1.6.1 Service Pack 5 Enhancements
 

Enhancement Description
Laser Link Product Line Support Laser Link II and Laser Link III products are now supported in TNCS as well as the standalone Optical Amplifier and Optical Switch.
New Continuum Backup 9820 Modulators & 9890 BTSC Stereo Encoders can now be backed up by the new 9825 Modulator with stereo encoder.
TNCS 1.6.1 Manual The TNCS Help file has been updated to Release 1.6.1 and is now presented in a PDF format.
Prisma IP ASI Card Support ASI Input & ASI Output cards for the Prisma IP chassis are now supported in TNCS.
Email Security TNCS email feature now incorporates an authentication method know as “Plain” and a debug routine to help troubleshoot Email problems.
Print Scaling Bug Fix Printing feature has been improved to make it easier to print / save reports.
Prisma II SNMP Graphics Graphics for the Prisma II & HDRx SNMP interface have been improved.

TNCS Release 1.6.1 Service Pack 4 Enhancements
 

Enhancement Description
Virtual device bug fix One of the changes made in Service Pack 3 inadvertently created a problem that prevented communications between proxy devices and virtual devices.
Wavecom
Up-converter Support
A new driver is available to manage Wavecom Up-converters using the RS-485 port.
Enhanced ADC Communications Communications with ADC DV-6000, Homeworx, and Optiworx has been improved.
TNCS Server Backup Critical TNCS files needed to backup the TNCS server in the event of a fatal hardware problem are automatically backed up to a remote server.
Synchronous Constellation Support Constellation chassis and modules are now support in TNCS through the Hercules proxy agent.
SNMP Interface to Prisma II Prisma II chassis and modules can now be managed using TNCS’s SNMP manager.

TNCS Release 1.4 Service Pack 6 Enhancements
By downloading and installing this service pack you will receive the latest enhancements to the TNCS 1.4 software. Each of the enhancements described below plus all of the enhancements from Service Pack 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 are included in Service Pack 6.
 

Special Note to Prisma DT users:
Do not download and install Service Pack 6 without upgrading the firmware in your Prisma DT to version 2.41. Please call the Technical Assistance Center at 800.722.2009 or your local sales representative to obtain information on upgrading Prisma-DT.

TNCS Release 1.4 Service Pack 3 Enhancements
 

Enhancement Description
Prisma DT Backup Capabilities Added Backup function for local Prisma DT CCUs to enable communication with remote Prisma DT when one of the local CCUs lost communication.
RS-485 interface to HDRx  Added Support for HDRx using the RS485 bus. Replaces the RS232 Serial interface.
Continuum and UC4 back up / restore Enhanced the backup and restore functions for Continuum and UC4. (Corrects a problem introduced in Service Pack 2.)

TNCS Release 1.4 Service Pack 2 Enhancements
 

Enhancement Description
Support for Prisma II Files called devtypes (short for device types) are included in this service pack to support all of the Prisma II modules available as of August 1, 2001.
Online "Add" of Devices
  • A pop up window will warn the operator if the device name that is being added is too long or if the hierarchical name is too long.

  • A pop up window will warn the operator if the device or group being added violates the maximum 20 levels of branches on the device list tree. Each time a device or group is added the device list tree is redrawn.

E-mail Long email message are now supported.
Support for:
93218, 93228, & 93208 Amplifiers 90070 & 90072 Optical Nodes
Devtype files for these devices have been updated to fully support all monitoring and control function.

TNCS Release 1.4 Service Pack 1 Enhancements
 

Enhancement Description
9821 Modulator & 9861 Stereo Encoder The software that controls the out of chassis backup feature for both of these modules has been enhanced to ensure that the backup module is correctly configured during backup. 
Prisma DT Several minor changes were made to the files that create the displays for Prisma DT modules to enhance the on screen presentation.
Back Up Capability A change was made to the software that controls automatic and manual backup to eliminate the possibility of multiple backup commands being issued to a single module simultaneously. 
On Line Device Add When adding a network element to TNCS from the main screen the address field will now accept an IP address.
E-Mail Enhanced email feature to support both SMTP and ESMTP protocols.
