Broadband Network Controller Certification Program
Level 1
Description
The Broadband Network Controller Certification (BNCC) designation
demonstrates the ability to configure, provision, and provide
broadcast, interactive, and secure services to Digital Home
Communications Terminals using the Digital Broadband Delivery System
(DBDS).
Level 1 Certification is earned by
passing a 2-hour written exam. The exam is available both in hard
copy form and online via the Internet. Potential candidates must
pass the written exam and earn Level 1 Certification prior to
scheduling the practical exam for Level 2 Certification.
To successfully pass the written
examination, candidates must obtain a minimum score of 70%.
Requirements
Prerequisites are not required for any candidate. However,
Scientific Atlanta Institute highly recommends attendance in the
Activating and Operating Digital Subscriber Networks and the
Advanced DBDS Troubleshooting courses.
The certification requires knowledge and skills in the use of Sun
Solaris UNIX, data network switching, and Informix database
management.
