Validate Technical Proficiencies
New service offerings promise significant revenue opportunities for your business – and present significant resource challenges. A responsive staff of technical experts and innovative thinkers is required to successfully operate, maintain and troubleshoot integrated broadband networks. How do you ensure that each member of your team is equipped to efficiently and effectively identify problems, provide solutions and support customer needs?

The new Broadband Network Certification Program (BNCP) provides the connection to the Digital Broadband Delivery System (DBDS) domain and enables a quantitative measure of knowledge and skill levels. In-depth written exams and lab practicals provide a thorough, objective assessment of an individual’s knowledge for technical proficiency in a selected area or job.

Through performance-based standards, professionals who earn BNCP certification demonstrate the knowledge, expertise and qualifications to operate and troubleshoot broad-band networks – and, most importantly, the skills necessary to keep your systems running smoothly.

Identify Knowledge and Skills
To earn BNCP certification, candidates must successfully complete both written and hands-on, practical exams administered by qualified proctors. BNCP exams are detailed, thorough and designed for the candidate to apply qualified knowledge and skills in a dedicated digital broad-band network. Although there are no prerequisites to taking the exams, SciCare Training does provide a list of suggested courses that can be taken in preparation for certification.

We currently offer four types of certification as part of the Broadband Network Certification Program:

  • Broadband Digital Technician Certification (BDTC)
The BDTC designation validates a technician’s ability to install, operate, and troubleshoot the Digital Home Communications Terminal (DHCT), and indicates an understanding of industry-standard broadband equipment. The BDTC is geared toward Digital Installers/ Technicians.

  • Broadband Headend Maintenance Certification (BHMC)
The BHMC designation demonstrates the ability to configure headend equipment and perform testing and monitoring of signal integrity to ensure that FCC and signal quality standards are met. Headend Technicians, Hub Site Technicians and other personnel responsible for maintaining the Digital Broadband Delivery System (DBDS) will benefit from the BHMC.

  • Broadband Network Controller Certification (BNCC)
Individuals receiving the BNCC designation demonstrate the ability to configure, provision and provide interactive, broadcast and secure services to digital home communications terminals using the Digital Broadband Delivery System (DBDS). The BNCC is designed for Digital Subscriber Network Operators, Transport Network Engineers, Access & Distribution Engineers and Software Control System Engineers.
