importance of maintaining a consistent and standardized knowledge
base within your organizations. These tutorials will assist
personnel in obtaining key information in a timely and convenient
manner.

Explorer 8000 DVR Express (for
CSR's and Technicians)
The Explorer 8000 DVR Tutorial is designed for those sites
deploying the Explorer 8000 and that require specific product
knowledge to support subscribers. The tutorial is highly
interactive and representative of the actual screens and
functions. This enables students to “walk-through” the
operation of various features as if they were actually using the
remote control and settop. In addition, the self-study tutorial
provides Frequently Asked Questions in an easy-to-access format
enabling Customer Service Representatives (CSRs) to quickly

SmartLAN Express Learning (for
CSR's and Installation Technicians)
The SmartLAN™ Learning Express is designed for those sites
offering the SmartLAN components as part of a home networking
solution. The tutorial is highly interactive and provides
instruction on home networks and networking standards, identifying
the home network solution, installing the SmartLAN components,
configuring the home network, and troubleshooting. On completion
of the tutorial, students will understand all elements of
installing the SmartLAN home network solution.

WebSTAR Cable Modem Express
Tutorial (for CSR's and Installation Technicians)
The WebSTAR Cable Modem Tutorial is designed for those sites
deploying Scientific Atlanta cable modems. The tutorial is
interactive and provides instructions for installing, configuring
a personal computer, and troubleshooting the cable modem. The
tutorial also contains a Frequently Asked Questions section
highlighting common areas of interest.

Installation
Technician Tutorial - Verifying Two-Way DHCT Operation
This free tutorial for the Installation Technician focuses on the performance of proper installation practices. The tutorial covers the
four key areas needed to verify the DHCT has made a successful two-way connection. As new interactive services roll out, it becomes critical to ensure subscribers can use
IPPV, VOD, Internet browsing, and email through a two-way DHCT connection. This tutorial reinforces the use of diagnostic information during an installation, enabling
subscribers to utilize two-way interactive services.

Explorer DHCT Tutorial (for CSR's and Technicians)
This tutorial focuses on the use and navigation of the remote controls (Models ER1 and
AllTouch) for viewing and selecting programs on the DHCT. The Quick Settings and General Settings menu functions are also discussed in detail. Each module concludes with a short review quiz to assess your understanding of
the content. This tutorial is ideal for those new to the Explorer DHCT or for those familiar with the DHCT but wanting to refresh their knowledge.

SR 1.4/1.5 Express Tutorial (for DNCS
Operator's)
This tutorial is designed for sites that are upgrading their software to SR
1.4/1.5. The tutorial summarizes the new features that SR 1.4/1.5 adds, bringing
users up to speed on operating a Digital Broadband Delivery System (DBDS) that
is running SR 1.4/1.5. The tutorial reinforces topics taught in SciCare's Activating
and Operating a Digital Subscriber Network course, speeding students’
understanding and ability to operate a DBDS using the new features of SR
1.4/1.5. You'll find easy to follow videos that walk you through each process
and procedure, as well as detailed descriptions of how to set up your DNCS for

SR 2.1 Express Tutorial (for
DNCS Operator's)
This tutorial is designed for sites that are upgrading their
software to SR 2.1. The tutorial summarizes the new features that
SR 2.1 adds, bringing users up to speed on operating a Digital
Broadband Delivery System (DBDS) that is running SR 2.1. The
tutorial reinforces topics taught in SciCare's Activating and
Operating a Digital Subscriber Network course, speeding students’
understanding and their ability to operate a DBDS using the new
features of SR 2.1. The tutorial focuses on the processes and
tasks performed by a DNCS Operator to configure auto-discovery of
service groups and configuring SONET architecture support.
